  1. Hello,

    I need help!
I have a divx avi File with frame rate at 24 fps, and i want to convert to (x)VCD. I know that this is no right format, but for me its okay. Anyway, after i convert with TMPGENC (1105kp/s 25 fps PAL 128kb/s) i will get a move. Its okay from the filesize, but when i played it in MPlayer the audio get out of sync. The problem is that the audio is sometimes 1 second back than its okay than 2 sec back...and so far. I doesn't understand it, because the source file is okay (That means is always synchron. Can anyone of you can give me a short explanaition of this case? Maybe anyone solve this problem before?

Kind Regards To All Of You,

  2. hmm.. are you sure the problem isnt the speed of your computer during playback? generally sync is either off the same amount the whole film.. or gradually (evenly) loosing sync as the film goes on.. but going in and out is weird.. (ive done a million conversions with different software and havent had that happen)

anyways.. post your pc setup and the software and procedure you used to do the conversion

  3. Its not actually 24, it's 23.976 fps

Now, in this case, encode like this-

encode using the fps- 23.976 and then use 3:2 pulldown.

What this does is, it will play at an actual fps of the same as the avi but encoded to 29.97, but will never reach 29.97 so it will never go out of sync.

Everyday is another payday and I am one step closer to becoming the one.

alexsevennine said, he converts 24 to 25 fps. Why do you confuse him with 23.... and 29.....
However, alex if you expect help you should give us more details. Used tools and settings. Btw, do not forget to read the HowToConvert section. I believe I have seen the answer there....

  6. Right click on your .avi file and select <properties>. Then click on
    the <detail> tab.

What video code is in use? If it's Ligos, then you need to get the
    codec updated/patched.

If you have ULead VS installed, then that is probably your problem.
Check www.ulead.com's support page for patches.

  8. First my Pc Setup isn't the problem. --> AMD TB 1400 512MB SDRAM 64MB Geforce2 MX200.
I think the Process i used is described before. Anyway i used TMPGENC to convert from avi to mpg (MPEG1 25fps 1106kps and 128kps Layer2 for Audio). And the result after the encoding (aprox. 3hours) is out of sync.
I think i know the problem. Is it possible that the divx is broken? I mean that the audio is not the same as the video. Cuts between?
Anyway i have found a solution on my own.
I wath the film and a noticed the points where the sync was changed. At this point i convert the wav file i made before (Goldwave). I mean if i have to insert/cut a second i convert for example 2 sec to 3 or otherway.
The result is not the best, but for me it is okay.

Kind regards and thank you for your intrests.
