  1. Purpose : To create quality DVD movies with menus with sufficient control in all aspects. i do not need extensive sound and video filters. transitions and Titling features - the more the better

After reading extensively i am undecided from out of the following in terms of quality

    01. nero 10 (the vision xtra component part of the suite) - Never heard too much about the ouput quality being discussed as a serious processing authoring software but it does support 2 pass VBR, austo fir to DVD size, super resolution mode (whatever that is?), mkv file input support and (highly?) customizable menu conrols including menu transitions, motion thumbnails and motion backgrounds.

    02. Cyberlink Powerdirector 9 - lots of good things but no 2 pass VBR and with director zone is looks promising

    03. Corel Videostudio 14

    04. Womble DVD - Does it even bear a candle to the others?

    05. Tmpgenc Express Authoring 4 and Mastering works 5 for complete control over all formats and aspects of authoring - i think it does not support menu transitions. Supposed to have a great mpeg encoder

What do you folks think is the best quality deliverance in ranking order/

Any other software that i have not considered from quality and a reasonable amout of features please let me know

Do not suggest Pinnacle or Magix or Hoestech whioh i do not want to condsider?

    Thank you so much folks

Dvd architect studio , dvd styler, gui for dvdauthor give far more control over assets and menu structure than any of the five that were listed for dvd.

Corel Videostudio offers far more than the other four ... quality ... better than nero / tmpgenc ... womble dosent even come close ... cyberlink powerproducer (only if they give it for free).

Then again your choice must also take into consideration the system spec requirements ... unless youve updated it still says in your profile win98.
