  1. Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm quite new at this so apologies for the simplicity of my questions.

I'm trying to convert a DVD (.vob) to a format that I can upload to Vimeo. I tried to convert it to .avi using Format Factory. The avi file was playing OK but then it goes in slow motion for 10 seconds or so and continues as normal again. This happens intermittently over the duration of the 15 minute avi file.

The DVD is a half size disc (DVD-R Video Recordable) Maxwell (30 minute 1.4GB). Please see the attached screenshot of the output settings.

I would appreciate any advice on how I can convert this .vob file to a format that I can play on Vimeo. I was also going to edit the avi file with Windows Movie Maker to put in a welcome screen at the beginning.

Format factory is usually very reliable.

My first suggestion is to try again with the original vob and use the same settings. Perhaps there was some glitch while converting.

What player are you using to playback the converted file that has this intermittent issue? Try playing it with mpchc or vlc and see if it still happens. It could possibly be a software issue and the actual file is fine. If either program plays it back without an issue then the file is fine.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Hi,

I tried it on a different computer this time but unfortunately I'm still having a problem. If you look at this video you'll see what I mean (http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cXeln02BZ).

I played it back on Windows Media Player and VLC Player but the issue is occurring with both.

    Any advice appreciated.
