Will there be any loss of quality or something if I convert my ALAC collection to FLAC? I know they're both lossless but wouldn't the encoder re-convert the file?

Shouldn't it be the same thing as a remux like you do with video? I'd do a trial and find out for yourself.
I never heard of alac. Whose codec is it?Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
ALAC = Apple Lossless Audio Codec (i think), how do I test this?

Code:
ffmpeg -i input.m4a output.flac
uncompressed wav --> flac == lossless
So, what's up, Doc?Last edited by El Heggunte; 11th Mar 2011 at 20:45.
