I have been using smartripper, DVD2AVI and TMpegEnc to make some really good VCDs, I was wondering if there is a way of displaying subtitles on a VCD made using the above programs or any others I havn't been using. The only way I can think of would be to record the Mpeg in realtime from my DVD player to my PC.
All help is greatly appreciated.

You can have an VCD with subtitles, but not with subtitles that can be turned on/off. Frameserve from Virtual Dub using the subtitler plugin.

There are two general ways.
1. Frameserve with VirtualDub with the plug-in
2. Use FlaskMPEG.
Both methods are described in detail in guides at http://www.doom9.net
