This is a picture quality question for the videos I compile. These are aimed towards YouTube, available at 1080p quality. I'll start off by showing you the compressed versus the loss-less videos, side to side:
The configuration I'm currently using for my x264 codec is the following (everything else is defaults except for Deblocking Strength and Treshold. They were bolt set to -1 for a, supposedly, sharper image)
You can see in the encoded version (left) the quality is pretty good but the color intensity and richness feels completely dead when compared to the lossless quality to the right. It's not a big deal if I have to sacrifice more time rendering for stronger picture color, but I'd rather avoid creating even bigger files than it already is (740MB). Also, this was done using the AutoEncode option in MeGUI, but I am not 100% sure the configurations I specified were used in the first stage, namely because the encoded video was in .264 format as opposed to the usual mkv.
Regardless the resultant muxed file turned out to be MKV at the quality which is similar to the other videos, the file size, on the other hand appears to continuously increase =/ I guess that would be due to the fact that there's a lot of action in this part as opposed to the previous ones.
Thanks for any advice,
Lupo
P.S. Couldn't find any "Quality-check" board so I simply decided to post it here, hope it's the right place!

^That discussion covers almost everything
To me it looks like 2 media players at the same time (overlay issue).
If this wasn't the case, the other thing it could be is your use of vegas & studio RGB while using debugmode.
To expand the levels back to "normal" levels, either use studio to computer RGB filter in vegas , or use ConvertToYV12(matrix="PC.709") in the script instead of ConvertToYV12() -
Thanks for the replies I'll be giving the matrix a shot right now while reading about the initial link. But keep in mind that the "lossless" quality was actually the feed I was getting from DMFS. It looked flawless to me. The color gets "butchered" during encoding.

I tried the Matrix PC.709. There's a clear improvement to the color accuracy. Here's an image which details 4 different samples.
TopLeft: MeGUI Preview.
TopRight: Directly playing the signpost AVI file (Think of this as the lossless file, I guess?)
BottomLeft: The change to the script ConvertToYV(Matrix="PC.709")
BottomRight: The usual encodes with ConvertToYV()
I can clearly note the shadows have been fixed in color, and there are very minor differences (also due to the fact I didn't pick the exact same time to take the sample, even though it's a very similar pick as you may have noticed.
Edit: Forgot to link the picture *facepalm* (it's 3MB in size btw, just a heads up)
