hello, everyone. i am very new to the forum and have downloaded and installed ffmpegX, along with the required codecs. I have some video files given to me that I need to convert to a format that Final Cut Express. imovie, or idvd will can handle (preferably Final Cut Express). I have run the program and have gotten a supposed finish product, but when i go to look for the converted file I can't find it. It was designated to save in the same folder as the original. I have included the results of the conversion and I an hoping some can help me figure out whats wrong. The highlighted part is what I figure the problem to be. I selected the option under video MPEG4.AVI (MENCODER).

Whatever help the community can give me will be a huge help. Than you in evidence.-

Check the folders for write access through the Get Info window > Ownership & Permissions. For the folder of the save location and its parent folders. (When copying a DVD to a hard disk drive, it may have the folders from the DVD as 'Read only'. It can happen easily.) Change to 'Read & Write' where applicable.
Another option is to try saving to the Desktop.

Thanks Case, the ownership permission suggestion worked great.
