    Hi gang,

    I have a JVC Everio GZ-MS120BU and I've learned that it has a proprietory file type--.mod. I would like to see how to convert to ANYTHING other than .mod--I have MS Movie Maker and Quicktime Pro. Would like to be able to do some editing.

    jvc mod files are mpeg2 video

    you can use avidemux to do minor edits or re-wrap into program stream (mpg) or convert into some other format that your editor accepts, another option for conversion is ffmpeg

    quicktime pro won't read mpeg2 video without the extra mpeg2 plugin ($20), so converting to mov container isn't such a good idea
