  1. Hi everyone

Would really appreciate some help here.
I have a concert in MP4 format that i want to extract the audio from - but only the 1st minute - i.e. the intro.
I've tried a couple of programs but neither work, makes the end result like goldfish noises lol....
The end result is very important for me as i'm using it for my own show intro so quality is important.
Basically i'm looking for the easiest way to extract and save to MP3 format.

Really appreciate any help you can give me.

    Thanks so much.

    Tony.

Forget about saving it as an MP3 first....and forget about saving only the piece you need first.
Save the complete audio, take out the piece you want, then save that as an MP3.

VirtualDub - open the video - save as WAV(44.1, 16bit)
Open the audio in CDWave, make your splits, save only the piece you want as an MP3 file.
    Done

    Hey there

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Ok that's cool - i'll do that. So i won't lose any quality by extracting/converting to wav and then to mp3 afterwards?
    I'll give it a go

Hi, me again. I downloaded it, and clicked File/Open and it wouldn't let me open the MP4 saying it's unknown file type :S

    T.

    Thanks again.

avidemux, open mp4, under audio choose mp3, drag the slider to one minute, click the B-icon(end), Audio->Save and save as audio.mp3.

See if AviDemux can open the vid.
Audio dropdown box - save as WAV PCM
Up on top - AUDIO - SAVE - give it a name and the .wav file type.
*you may need to also change the "Resampling(Hz)" under FILTERS to 44.1(44100) depending on what type of audio your MP4 file has.

If AviDemux can't open the video...run the video through GSpot(a utility that tells you exactly what type of video and audio are in that file)
and tell us what is in the audio fields.
