I thought Sony created Bluray on its own. How can LG sue Sony for anything related to Bluray?
Wasn't this similar to how JVC created vhs but let others make compatible players? Didn't Sony make Bluray and then licensed it out to other companies? How can LG sue Sony over something they made?
Or was Sony involved in a cooperative over the creation of Bluray and simply is the majority owner so to speak?

Thanks menes777. So they were part of a group. How much of it was developed in-house by Sony though? I mean I know patents get used in everything and nothing is usually 100% proprietary.

I am not sure I fully understand the suit either, seems more like tit for tat on LG's part. I suppose that's par for the course these days now though.
