  1. My first post, hi everyone

Here's the issue, i have a mkv file which i wanna convert to avi with subs. But subs don't come out quite right like before (' becomes _ same for other symbols)
I'm using alltoavi to do this, it worked great for me in the past so i'd like to keep using it if possible.

I've been trying to search a way around it but haven't been making a lot of progress. So the only difference i see with other sub converted avi's is that the language of the subs is set to undefined, tried to change it with mkvmerge gui and then convert to see the result but once i start to convert with alltoavi the mencoder stops functioning for some odd reason

Anybody know of a way around all of this trouble? Oh yeah, it's 720p anime episodes so i'd like to keep the quality as good as possible too

Freemake video Converter can convert your mkv to avi with burned in subs. Not the best looking subs though.

Any ideas on how to bypass the altoavi problem with mkvmerge i've had?
