  1. I keep getting an error message when I try to convert an MPEG file in TMPGEnc which states the file cannot be created. Then when I explored some of the settings on TMPGEnc under the CPU setting I received a message that stated:"Error; Code 87: parameter is incorrect

Ultimately what I'm trying to do is convert an MPG2 file (that I capture with my Dazzle Video Creator II) down to a VCD using TMPGEnc because I was reading on some of the posts as well as the review for TMPGEnc that , that is the best way to come up with good quality VCD

Any advice on why I am having problems with TMPGEnc and how to fix the problem.

Any advice on what settings to use on the conversion?

    THANKS

  2. i can help on file cannot be created part-

Make sure that the source directory and the output directory are not the same!! or if they are, the filename for the output is different!

2nd, make sure that NO programs are accessing or have the capability of accessing the source video such as windows media player, another tmpgenc program open, ANY file sharing program open where u have recently played the vid in, any capture program, any video editing program.

I saw your post and tried your suggeston. It worked. I can't believe I overlooked something that simple but thanks a million for your help.
I also tried a sample conversion from MPEG 2 to VCD on TMPGEnc and it worked like a charm. Now its on to bigger and better projects (I hope). Thanks again.
