    Hello, new here.

I have a Samsung DVD player model P255K mfg'ed in Region 3. I tried to use the hack code that was posted in the DVD Hacks list section but it didn't work for me. Here is the code that I tried to use:

1: Turn DVD player on, with NO DVD in the tray.

2: Press Repeat on remote control (bottom right key)

    3: Enter 76884

    4: Press 9

    5: Open tray, close tray

6: Turn off DVD player, turn it back on.

Does anyone have another code that I might try for this player?

    Look at the suggestions here:
    http://www.dvddemystifiziert.de/codefree_en/samsung.html

If no go, perhaps the firmware of your player has been revised by the manufacturer
    to disallow it.

    Dave,

Thanks for the reply! Here are the instructions that was at the site link that you provided:

Power on your player with no disc in the tray
    1. Press REPEAT for 5 seconds
    2. Enter the corresponding combination for your current RC (see top of the page)
    3. Current RC should be displayed
    4. Press the button for the desired RC (9=multi-region)
    5. (Press OPEN)Power off your player
The bold font step is the one that I wasn't sure of the meaning. It references a "combination" list that is at the top of the site page. This is what is at the top of that site's page:
    1. Region codes:
    2. RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
    3. RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8)
    4. RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
    5. RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
    6. RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
    7. RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2
Which "combination" is the numbered instruction list referring to, when it says to "enter the cooresponding combination for your curent RC"?

The player is mfg'ed for R3 use. I'm not sure what they are referring to here in step 3 of the instructions.

This player was bought in 2005 when the model was new.

[edit] I got it understood now *duh* haha, thanks again for the link!

    Dave,

Thanks for the link for the Samsung player. My friend overseas in R3 told me that this code worked.
