Hey guys,
Just a quick question..... Well after weeks of reading and burning
i've finally got my settings set to burn a very good looking vcd thanks to
the help from members and info on these forums. I am burning avi to mpeg using tmpgenc that i have captured through my capture card. My
dvd player seems to be happy with all the bitrates that tmpegenc can
throw at it (within reason). I can encode at the basic 1150 or keep pushing up to 13,14,15 thus increasing my file sizes. Audio is set at 44.1k/224k. Basically all I need to know is what bitrate calc to use so I
can figure out what bitrate to set my encoding at for best quality. I am
only looking for 60min on a vcd. I see many calculators for divx and such. But all I will be doing is avi to vcd via tmpgenc. In other words...
I want to be able to find out how high i can encode at while still fitting
60min on one vcd.
Any help and/or input would be greatly appreciated. :D

In the tools section there is a bitrate calculator that runs in Explorer. You can download it as well. 60 minutes on an XVCD would be at a bitrate around 1600 with 224 sound...you can increase the video bitrate by reducing the audio bitrate. The calculator will show you those options.

Download FitCD if it's still linked in the "TOOLS" section... it's remarkable. Calculates everything you need here, and then some! Just my $0.02
