  1. Dear All,

Could anyone can let me know about any software, which can prepare playable DVD with just using .vob files.
I have tried NERO but it's not playing properly with players.
Actually I have once one file which size is 3.2 GB but I want to add one more file with it, which size it 1.1Gb so that I can use one full single layer DVD. Please suggest

  2. You need to author a DVD, if your Nero includes NeroVisionExpress, use that. Choose the make a DVD disc. Otherwise, you can use IFOedit to create an IFO to go along with your VOB (need 1 IFO each), then burn as DVD video.

You have crap. DVD Video VOBs will be 1000MB or smaller. If you have a 3.2 GB VOB file then you aren't going to be able to author it nicely. It may not even be DVD compliant. You could butcher it with NeroVision, but I would suggest you make sure you actually have something to author. Use MediaInfo to see what is in the VOB, and compare it to the specs in What is DVD (top left corner of this site). If it is compliant, use VOB2MPG to extract the video and audio from the VOBs, then author properly with something like DVD Styler

I don't see any problem doing this with NeroVision, even if the file is over 1GB, NeroVision should author it accordingly once you dump it in the interface and proceed.

I think the problem was that you may have burnt it as data with maybe another tool in the Nero Suite (there are many of them). As a result, you had problems, which could be any number of them. You need to create it as a DvD video disc - with a DvD stucture, split VOBs and auxiliary BUP and IFO files, and NV will do just that. And use smart encoding so you don't have to re-encode anything to save time and quality.

Now that is all assuming your VOB file has DvD compliant video and audio inside. If it doesn't, that's another step. Post a MediaInfo report if you can (cut and paste the text) and we'll know.
I hate VHS. I always did.
