  1. I'm new to Gordian Knot, and mainly got it to do DVD-to-MKV (x264) conversions.
When I try to do a compressibility check I get this error :

Failed to get data for 'bmax'

I've searched and searched and can't find a solution. Anyone else ever have this happen? Did I stupidly over look the answer else where? I've Google searched, searched Doom9, and here. The only mention of the error I find is on a non-English site.

I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling. I dl-ed the codec pack listed with GK and tried that. Still the same result.

    Many thanks for any info!

How do you rip? be sure to use latest anydvd or dvdfab decrypter.

And I guess you know that gordian hasn't been updated in 6 years....maybe try something newer like staxrip or megui.

  3. I've tried using Dvdfab, Dvd Decrypter, and DvdShrink.
All with the same result. Any time I choose the x264 codec and then try to do a compressibility check, I get the error about failing to get data for bmax.

Also, in GK, on the Options pane, and the Save & Encode window when I click on one of the edit codec buttons for x264 nothing happens. No new window opens, nothing.
Could it be that GK isn't recognizing the codec?

I've already tried using the Delete Registry Keys button on the Options pane to no avail.
