is there a freeware equivalent of Ac3 Splitter? That is, something which takes an Ac3 including 5.1, and allows you to cut it up instantly? Not a wave editor which decompresses the file.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

the only freeware on that thread that might do it is Delaycut, but it doesnt play the file (like Ac3 Splitter) so you have to know exactly where to make the cuts. Not really what I want.

I'll look into the Besplit GUI on Doom, but I'm not sure if it will accept 5.1, and if it decompresses or not.

Delaycut is the only freeware one I know of that does not decompress and recompress. Many Mpg Editors will cut one if muxed with a video file.

I think Besplit is suppose to be lossless, but I cant get the WBIAS gui to load ac3 (2ch or 5.1).
I've used Mpeg2schnitt in the past, but I'm not sure if it's lossless, and I think the volume was effected. Probably doesnt do 5.1.
