    Video
    ID : 0
    Format : H.263
    Codec ID : FLV1
    Codec ID/Hint : Sorenson
    Duration : 13mn 6s
    Bit rate : 3 523 Kbps
    Width : 480 pixels
    Height : 360 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 4:3
    Frame rate : 66.667 fps
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.306
    Stream size : 331 MiB (100%)

I want to convert this file to 16:9, at least 960X540 or larger and MUST maintain or be of better quality and don't care about the resulting file size, how should I do it? (I currently have AviDemux and don't mind getting some other programs just to do this conversion alone).

    Thanks

P/s This file has no audio (not needed!)

you can't just change 4:3 video to widescreen. you either have to crop off the top and bottom or letterbox it with black bars.

best to letterbox unless you want people in the video to lose their heads and feet.

the same or better quality and increasing the size of an flv which is a highly compressed format to start with is not likely. good thing is it has a decent bitrate so it shouldn't get too bad.

why 960x540? and what format for the file after conversion? flv, mp4, mp2, avi, divx???

try avidemux, not sure it will use flv as a source but give it a shot. if not there are plenty of others to try. mediacoder is one of the more versatile.

Thanks aedipuss, how do ya do letterbox in AviDemux? Well, any file format will do (FLV, MP4, MKV, AVI....) I just want to get quality video out of this.

add black borders to the sides to make it 640x360. so add 80 pixels to the left and right. video/filters/transform/add borders. i wouldn't bother making it any bigger.
