    Hi!
    Im having trouble converting an image secuence to a mp4 file movie.

    I did found the correct presets that I want (with correct color and size) but the problems is when playing the video on Quicktime.. and on Windows!! (yes, in linux and mac the video goes perfectly well, but when on windows not..)

    Ok, so heres the thing.. in other players like "SMP Player" or "Media Classic" the video goes nice and smooth. But when I play it on Quicktime the color changes (it gets more white) and, besides that, the video visualization gets artifacts.

    Any thoughts? Any ideas??
    It would be great to use libx264(H264) because of the great conversion (from a secuence of 100 images - 5.6gb - i get a video of 9mg!!!)

    Should I try other codec?

    And... whats happening with quick time on windows??? Does apple do it on purpose?? (to change the visualisation, or the codec, or whatever on windows version..!!??)

    NOTES:
    here are the command and the presets:

    COMMAND:
    ffmpeg -i frame_%04d.tif -vcodec libx264 -vpre /*/*.ffpreset -s 1280x720 -padtop 120 -padbottom 120 -padcolor 000000 testVideo.mp4

    PRESSET:
    coder=1
    flags=+loop
    cmp=+chroma
    partitions=+parti8x8+parti4x4+partp8x8+partp4x4+pa rtb8x8
    me_method=umh
    subq=7
    me_range=16
    g=250
    keyint_min=25
    sc_threshold=40
    i_qfactor=0.71
    b_strategy=1
    qcomp=0.6
    qmin=1
    qmax=10
    qdiff=4
    bf=16
    refs=16
    directpred=3
    bidir_refine=1
    trellis=2

    Thanks in advance for every information and help!!

    According to what I've read so far,
    Quicktime is very picky about the file types it supports.

    Two solutions:

    1) Take the time to learn how to produce "QT-friendly" videos ;

    2) Drop QT completely. I don't use it since 1999, IIRC.

  4. Quicktime is totally screwed up under Windows. And not much better on the Mac.

    VirtualDub can append sequentially numbered images. Not sure if it can handle TIF though. AviSynth too.
