Trying to encode this AVI source video file which is in sync, but when converting to DVD (mpeg-2), the movie goes out of sync.
I used the audio gap feature in the TMPGenc Authoring Works 4 and it seemed to correct the problem but only in the first 25 minutes of the movie, then it goes out of sync again as if the sync delays are different in selective parts of the movie.
I know the original AVI was perfectly in sync, and I also know my other mpeg2 encoded files worked fine but every now and then I seem to get this issue and was wondering if this has something to do with the build frames inside the avi structure?
Was thinking it might be the framerate but I've converted 25fps -> 29.976fps all the time. Would and could try another program but I doubt its the program as I explained earlier it only happens on a very few avi files, any help is appreciated.

Try recoding the audio using virtualdub. Set the video to "direct copy" and audio to "full processing mode".
