Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Basically I'm looking for a guide that will help me configure my environment (PC with headphones) for optimal playback of various media. I'm mostly interested in a configuration details for watching Movies and TV.

looking around, I've found plenty of help for setting up an HTPC environment, with a TV, receiver, speakers etc, but very little if the environment is as simple as mine. I have used detail I've found, with modification, in various set-up guides, using MPC-HC, FFDshow, Reclock etc and I seem to get quite good results, but I doubt it's optimal for a PC with headphones.

For music I use foobar2000/WASAPI with my lossless, flac, library. I have a Asus Xoner ST feeding my HD600 headphones and soon I'll be adding a headphone amp.

Intel Core Duo E8400 (3000 MHz)
ATI 4850
4GB PC2-8500 1066MHz
Monitor is being replaced with a new 24' but undecided which
