Hi Everyone,

I use eac3to to rip the audio tracks of Blu Ray disks for later use in the creation of MKV files.

Usually I rip the DTS Core Master Audio track. To do this I must use the -core switch with eac3to. However recently it has come to my attention that the "Core" track is potentially a lossy track, and in an effort to rip lossless audio I have reverted to not using the -core switch.

When I rip without the -core switch I get the following error message in my eac3to log:

Warning: dts_packetizer: skipping 720 bytes (no valid DTS header found). This might make audio/video go out of sync, but this stream is damaged.
When I create my MKV files using MKVMergeGUI merging takes a very long time with files that present the above error (about 10 times longer than when I merge audio tracks that I used the -core switch with). Other than the long time that MKVMergeGUI takes to create the final MKV there don't appear to be issues with the audio / video synch.

Can anybody explain why this may be happening?

Tricky question!

Thanks

Davo
