I'm using Any Video Converter] (free version) to convert an mpg video to AVi (vxid codec). See Media Info for the source file below. It is obviously a 6 channel AC-3 file/ using the AVI profile in Any Video Converter shows that it wants to convert to 2 channel. All I really want is for it to convert the file to AVI using all of the same audio/video settings. My reason for the conversion is that via TVersity, my Samsung C5500 doesn't support rwnd/ffwd/pause/etc for mpg files. Works GREAT for AVI. Same for the XBox 360, which will only play mpg files if transposed in real time by TVersity, a cpu intensive process my media server can't support...
I included media (Working file) info for an mpg file that I converted using a trial version of another tool... But unfortunately I can't afford to buy it...

If I'm barking up the wrong tree or a more complex solution than I need, please let me know. My research and test file shows AVI (divx) as the best format for my needs....

What am I missing in the Any Video Converter settings? Is Any Video Converter the best tool to do this? I do need batch processing as I have a number of mpg files to convert... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Other Specs:
I am running Win 7 Home Premium on an I7-820QM, 8gb RAM laptop for my conversions as I need the processing power... My media server runs Windows XP Media Center, Pentium 4 2.8ghz, 4gb RAM

You can keep the ac3 with better converters. Try for example autogk, staxrip, avidemux, xmedia recode. Under audio choose copy.
