  1. Does anyone know of any good alternatives to wintv 2000 for use with a hauppage wintv card? I am unable to find a fine tune capability for wintv2000 and one program is not quite tuned and is unwatchable as a result of hiss but the same program is fine on my panasonic 28' quintrix.

  2. Basicly you can use ANY program for the bt8x8 chipset, and it will run on your WinTV card, I know, cause I have one myself

Thanks for the reply Sefy, I have been looking quite a bit and the problem is that I am having difficulty finding software for the tv card as I assume most of it comes bundled such as the wintv that comes with the card, sorry to be a pain but do you have the names of any tuner software that is good?

  4. most of the programs I used to work with, are also capture programs, such as: freeVCR, VirtualDub, WinVCR
    they all have Tuning capabilities, personaly, I prefer WinTV32, I don't like WinTV2000, it's too heavey on resources.

    If you are just trying to WATCH TV on your computer, get DScaler.

  7. Hmm... personaly I tried DScaler, and I honestly didn't like the quality, I didn't see what's the big deal about the program, it's not very nice GUI to use either, WinTV32 has a much nicer and cleaner interface.

  8. The picture quality in Dscaler is good and the gui is workable, just a pity it doesn't support sound in XP. have to keep trawlin will find summat that works well.

  9. I've checked with Hauppauge, latest 3.35 version of their software use the technologies from DScaler, but you also need to use the latest Driver. so you might want to check if you got latest of both!
