I captured about 4minutes uncompressed avi (6,4 GB :D) and I use TMPenc.... the picture and audio quality is really good but the final SVCD video jerks a little bit (the motions are not really smooth)...
Can anybody tell me how to change that or is just the big file size too much for my pc? (P4, 1,6 GHz, 80GB hard drive, 256RAM)

I would help if you gave more info like what capture card you use what Windows you use and what software you use. Then people could help you out more

Ok, I'm using Win2k, and Win TV PCI (it's an older card I think from about 98)
I capture it with Virtual Dub (until now uncompressed fullscreen 32bits RGB PAL) and encode the video with TMPGEnc...
Do you need the TMPGEnc settings as well?
Thanks for your help! -
The Freak,
Try playing your svcd (MPEG-2) file with another player (WINDVD), I had the same problem and siacovered that the software couldn't play the larger file. (on P4 1.5GHz 120 Gb ,512 MB).
Try cutting the file in smaller pieces and see if it's beeing played correctly,
good luck
