can someone recommend a good training tutorial, DVD or CD, for this program. I really like the Class on Demand line but they have nothing that I can find for sony vegas. Any recommendations and where to buy are appreciated

The kind of "training" you should look for is on editing, then the Vegas toolset will be understood intuitively.

No offense to PDR! But Vasst has a lot of outdated/outmoded (stale) material and geared toward wedding videographers. Caveat Emptor. Same goes for Creative Cow, where the book authors "work" the forums as moderators incognito to pump interest in their books.

I've found the best training can be obtained from non-product specific sources because Vegas is not fully comprehended in the minds of some of the so called professionals that write these books. Kind of like how the science teacher in high school is not the best source for scientific inquiry.

Some editors do cookie cutter work, and some do advanced compositing, and their advice tends to be geared from their own pigeon-holed view. You want to let your mind blossom in the least restrictive way leaving room for your own creativity to bloom.
