Well, I suppose I should ask here as well to see what I can get.
Does anyone else with an Intensity Pro have this issue? When using Virtualdub and capturing for > 1 hour the audio/video eventually goes far out of sync. Virtualdub shows inserted frames as if the driver stopped sending frames. It does not completely stop as well, the video simply gets very jittery. The capture log shows that the audio/video timestamps start to diverge where the framerate jitters.
Should I try older drivers? I really would prefer to capture using Virtualdub so I can use realtime codecs, preferably DV for convenience. Blackmagics MJPEG isnt very good!
I've tried the Avermedia AverTV HD as well, but I was not terribly happy with it trying to be the video police (blue screen on a macro tape I tried). Should I just be using this thing instead and just get a good TBC for the few macro tapes I have? The vast majority of my VHS collection is just normal stuff from TV over 20 years + home movies I want to save.
(I still have both cards, but I'm going to have to return them within the coming week if I still want to get a refund)

You need an external TBC to use the Aver HD DVR PCIe card with VCR sources. The card is extremely sensitive to sync errors and weak video levels. You should have an external TBC regardless of what capture card you use, it will likely solve your frame dropping problem. Using the HD DVR, I have done 2+ hour VHS/Betamax captures with zero audio sync issues. I did have a problem with VDub inserting frames, but it turns out my hard drive was to blame. Switching to a dedicated capture drive solved the problem.

I will keep this in mind, thank you.
Although what troubled me is that VirtualDub was inserting frames just using test capture, meaning it was not even using the disk at all. Leaving it running for > 1 hour it would start to insert frames, the video preview would eventually start to noticeably jitter. After 6 hours the number of inserted frames is in the hundred of thousands as well as the preview now being a slideshow.
About the TBC the card would have frames inserted even when sending it pure colorbars for hours. So clearly it is not the source as well in this case.
Using a different card I did not get this issue, so I'm suspect about blackmagics drivers rather than virtualdub.
