    Hi guys,

I have a LG blu-ray player BX580, so recently I am planning to play some mkv files on it, but it doesn't work.

    So here is my problem,

At first I have a mkv files with flac audio, due to the reason that the blu-ray player doesn't support flac fomat, so I try to convert the whole mkv file and change the audio format to mp3. The software I use is Xilisoft Ultimate Video Converter. So after I converting the file, I play it on the blu-ray player, and it works absolutely fine, but another problem comes out, that's the subtitle. After converting the mkv file, the subtitle is gone. So next I use MKVExtract GUI to extract the subtitle in the original mkv file, and try to merge it into the new mkv file using MKVMerge GUI. The process goes successfully. And by the time I thought there wasn't any problem, I was wrong... So I try to play the converted file with subtitle on the blu-ray player, but the file cannot be played...and now I am totally exhausted...I really need some help from you guys. Thank you very much...

pherhaps you need to force Header Compression to none, new versions of MKVToolnix has this option set by default which is incompatible with some devices

can you upload a small sample of that MKV+FLAC and post here ?

In mkvmergegui under file->options Disable header removal compression for audio and video track by default. Then open the mkv and make a new mkv.

  5. Thank you very much! Actually I have just taken a look on the MKVToolnix description page, and I found out other people has similar problem as me, and their solution is to use the older version of the program. I think I will try that also~ but really a big thanks!

  6. I'm not sure bout your lg player but mine doesn't support FLAC audio you need AAC so converting that should do the trick and I suggest you study the manual as it says what formats in what container is supported.

open avidemux : set video to copy (no encode means no quality loss) set audio to aac 128kbps should do.

ha didn't read the post properly.
