  1. I was wondering what the best way to watch divx on my tv. I have read the faqs, and it seems that a pc to tv converter is the best way. Does anyone have any experience with the quality of these converters. What should I be looking for in a converter. Thanks

  2. I would just get a video card that offers tv out. And plug the tv on in.
Alot of people do it that way and they say looks just like on the computer.

  4. I purchaed the Xtasy Everything Video Card by Visiontek (www.visiontek.com) which is the Nvidia Personal Cinema design. I been a faithful ATI customer for the past few years with their whole Rage series since ATI has great color and tech support, BUT Nvidia finally came up with a solid video card for all around use which will rival ATI and Matrox. The Xtasy Everything is everything the AIW should be.

The TV out is crisp on my television sets which I tested: (flat screen Sony trinitron-analog, a tube black and white portable-analog, 13 inch color TV- analog, 52" HDTV-digital, and recorded through analog and svideo on a current Sony VCR.) I used the Zoomplayer as well as TVTool to max out the signal to elimate borders on the output and I still got a clear reception with no jitters or faded colors and clear crisp lines. I tried Madden Football, a DIVX short of the new Attack of the Clones, some college football game tapes used by coaches for scouting which are real fuzzy and blurry, and a DVD of a couple of flicks. Bar none I am very pleased and impressed by the Xtasy Everything. It captured at high resolution as well since it is a High Definition Video Processor (HDVP).

I ditched my WinTV since the Xtasy has a superior tuner included at High Definition. Plus it includes Win DVD and Win DVR. I got this package for 200 dollars! I also forgot to mention it has the Twin View option to link 2 monitors whether it is analog or digital and this included the use of a television set. You got to check it out at the company website. My captures have improved. I use to use WinTV and DC10 Plus. The Xtasy Everything Personal Cinema is AGP with a special multi functional box that connects externally to the card. The chip is the Geoforce 2 with 2 monitor connections and an svideo connection; 64 mb and its own 250 mhz processor. I love this card. ATI who?

  5. the new version of tvtool (see the tools section) will work for most nvidia cards with tv out and does great output... it lets you choose standard that will show the desktop exactly on the tv, useful for presentations... or you can use the full screen option with will make the destop slightly larger than the tv screen so that you can make sure the video shows up with no black borders around it.
