    Hi all,
I am attempting to capture some old VHS tapes using an Aiwa HV-MX100U VCR and a MiroMotion DC30 capture card installed in a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver. When capturing PAL tapes the quality of the capture is very good but when capturing NTSC tapes I am getting grid-like patterns in the lower left and upper right hand corners (as seen in the attached screen shot). The patterns are constantly present and move around as the source material is played. Any ideas what these patterns are or what I can do to get rid of them?

    Thanks,
    Wayne

It could be crosstalk with a 50Hz source.

Are you feeding a PAL input to the VCR input?

I am not running any inputs to the VCR. The output connections are one composite video connection and 2 audio connections.

I have a DC30plus for the PC but have never used one on the Mac.

Maybe there is a DC30 forum somewhere.

Thanks. I have tried 2 DC30 cards, both with the same result.

I am using the DC30 Xact driver from Squared 5. I will contact them to see if they have any ideas.
