    I'm just looking to make quick cuts and merges, so having to reconvert whole video files is a bit much for me.

    Vdubmod does the job perfectly for me with the direct stream copy option but it only supports avi.
    Any other programs out there that does the same for wmv and rmvb formats? (and also mkv w/subs)

    wmv = asfbin
    mkv with switchable subs = nothing.

    Are there any solutions for rmvb files?

    If not whats the best cutter/reencoder that could detect and reencode in the same format/bitrate as the source file?
