Problem playing VCD

I received a VCD yesterday and having trouble playing the disc with Window Media Player 7.0. The VCD has two AVSEQxx.DAT files. I am able to play Avseq02 with no problems. But when I try to load AVSEQ01 I get an error “no combination of filters could be found to render the stream” with an error id of “Error ID = 0x80040218”. I was able to play Aveseq01 with a DVD player on my PC with no problem.

I checked Microsoft’s web site and they recommended to delete Media Player and reinstall, they also listed a few verify that I had a few files and the register and everything on my system match what they showed on their website. I have also tried doing a search on this message board and did not see anyone other post with the same problem.

Stop trying, use a decent program that knows how to play VCD's correctly, like WinDVD or PowerDVD, and you'll get more control, more features, and much better quality.
