  1. I got this program but when i try to use it it says:
    cannot open track01.raw
    cannot open track02.raw
    cannot open track03.raw
    cannot open track04.raw
    cannot open track05.raw
    reading TRACK1.RAW
    cannot open track01.raw file

i don't know why this happens. i placed the program where my raw tracks are. The way i use it is to open a command prompt window and then drag VP4TOCUE on to the window and then press space and enter the number of tracks.
i was told to do this by someone on this forum.

Is this the right way to do it if not can anyone help me please!

    Purpose:
To fix the VideoPack 4 (v.4.00.82) problem of creating correct offset
for each dat tracks in track01.raw.

    How to use:
    1. Create the disc image to generate TRACK01.RAW, TRACK02.RAW, ...
    2. Specifiy the number of tracks as the first argument to pass to
    vp4tocue.exe. eg. for 20 tracks, type "vp4tocue 20"
    3. The -old option is for VideoPack 4 (v.4.00.79) but I have NOT
tried it. I have it there because it is just simple to add this
extra thing in the codes. DO NOT USE THIS OPTION for v.4.00.82.

    What it does:
It reads "TRACK01.RAW" into memory. Check the filesize of all TRACK*.RAW
files. Calculate the offset and save a new file called, "TRACK01.NEW".
Then it generates a CUE file (using TRACK01.NEW).

    NOTES:
I wrote this utility for my own use. It works for me perfectly. If it
did not work for you, I could offer no further help.

    >timmy,
Why can't you drag and drop files into a dos window?

This is the way I use vp4tocue, pulldown, tooLame, bbtools, vcdimager, hell it's the way I use all command line programs. Never had a problem with any.

    open your msdos window
    c:\windows>
    Type cd..
    c:\
Type cd "the directory where your raw tracks are" if they are in c:\vcd then type cd vcd if they are in E:\movie\mpeg then type cd e: then cd movie then cd mpeg cd stands for change directory. You need to Change Directory to where your files are. Replace the then's with returns. If you still don't get it, buy Win On CD!

  19. Need some DOS lessons fellas?

"Timmy_boi i tried what you said and nothing happens it
just goes on to the next line ie:

    C:\WINDOWS>C:/windows/desktop/vcdfolder vp4tocue 6
    C:\WINDOWS>

    any other clues?"

First off gents, DOS requires the slashes go the other way. If should read:

    c:\windows\desktop\vcdfolder\vptocue 6

However, as others have tried to point out, calling the program this way means that you can call it from any folder or "directory" in the system causing your default path to be something other than vcdfolder. The problem with this is it defeats the purpose of finding your audio files you so nimble put in the vcdfolder. So go with the "CD" command suggestions to set your current folder as vcdfolder.

You can also condense the command to this:
    cd c:\windows\desktop\vcdfolder

    CD = "Change directory".

Hope this helps you with DOS, I have no idea about VPTOCUE

  20. yea sorry bout not mentioning the slashes forgot about that *smacks forhead* but yea there should be ONE Windows

thanx for the point out ramiss i will surely kiss your ass later
