I've been suffering with this problem since I upgraded to
WinXP. Anything I play in WMP can only be played at its
initial size. Anytime I go near the View--->Zoom settings,
the picture gets these black and white blocks, and another
picture shows up on the desktop (refresh eliminates this
ghost movie from the desktop).
I've heard if I turn down Video Acceleration that may solve
the problem. Well in my case it doesn't, but it has allowed
me to view the movies, where before I couldn't. So I guess
I should be happy, but I'd like to be able to play movies on
the system in full-screen mode.
The 'puter has a FireGL1 video card with 32MB of memory,
with 512MB of system memory. I'm running DivX v3.11 and
v4 codecs, and all the possible upgrades to WMP.
Anybody got any ideas how I can solve this problem?
TIA

Why doesn't this work?
-
Yup, move back to Win2000 or 98SE
I'll never understand why people rather suffer a non-operating system, then those that do workEmail me for faster replies!

no, windows ME is a non-operating system, XP is a great operating system.

Greg12, have you seen me mention Windows ME ? I don't think so, i'll tell you why too, Windows ME is the crap of the DOS based Windows, and WindowsXP is the crap of the NT based Windows.
But between ME and XP, atleast ME has higher compatibility rate with programs, check all over the forums and see how many people are having loads of problems with XP.
XP is nothing more then an attempt by Microsoft to integrate more of their crappy programs, not to mention their stupid passport and .net "technologies" and it's compatibility rate is below average.Email me for faster replies!

Other than downgrading, is there any other options?
Why doesn't this work? -
Well, other then downgrading I suppose you might want to try and look for the most latest drivers for your system for every piece of hardware you have and maybe that would fix your problem, but I don't know how updated driver you might have for your FireGL card, it's rather old as far as I know.
