Everytime I close a window and reopen it, windows always reorganizes my view setting. It started out being in just one folder for a long time, now it is doing it in all of them. And I do have the "remember folder view settings" box checked. Must be in the registry setting but I dont know which. Windows XP

I think you should look in Microsoft's Support Knowledge Base:

    http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/c.asp?fr=0&SD=GN&LN=EN-US

I have found one titled: "The View Setting of the Current Selected Folder Is Not Applied to Another Open Folder" (Q307116)

    http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307116

I don't quite know whether this will help you? However, I do think you should reset the "all folders" setting in WinXP. In the folder, go to "Tools" then "Folder Options" then "view" then click "Reset all folders". Do you try this?
