Is there free software to convert compressed SWF video files to either FLV, MPEG2, AVI? I want to convert some online SWF videos consisting of slides, audio & some animation that are compressed. I have been told that they must be decompressed before they can be converted into other formats.

I've searched the web for software to do this. I know iWisoft & Bytescout Video Converters can do so but they are rather costly for my minimal usage. All of the free converters I've tried will not convert compressed SWF files.

Any help or leads will be very much appreciated.
    Best regards, Richard

They can be converted, but probably not "decompressed" the way you might be thinking. Try WinFF.

Thanks for replying filmboss80. I just tried WinFF on one of these files. It didn't convert it; stopped with "I/O Error Occurred. Usually mean input file is truncated or corrupted". I have no idea what this error means - perhaps some one can explain it to me. Here is a web site containing a video like the one I want to convert.

    Video file is:

Does anyone else know of a free software that actually works for this kind of conversion?

Thanks for replying but I've already tried that too without success. Just about all of the free software & many of the purchased ones are incapable of converting swf files which are not videos (like animated slide shows with audio added).
    Best regards, Richard
