Hi, I just recently formatted C: and reinstalled everything since windows was accumulating errors faster than I could get rid of them. Anyways, I have a ATI Radeon 64Mb VIVO and for the life of me I can't get the god damn thing to recognize the video in function when I use MMC7.5???? It worked before i formatted now it doesn't--same drivers same software its a friggin mystery.
If anyone could shed light on how to get win98SE, and MMC7.5 to work please (i'm begging now) tell me. It's ironic every other feature of MMC7.5 works except for capture (which is why I installed the goddamn thing!!) I have reinstalled like 10 times and still nada. On the bright side I can still get MMC7.1 to work but it sucks (dropps frames, synch problems etc) I have looked around but can't seem to get a definitive answer for win98SE and MMC7.5. Any help?

What set of drivers do you have? The drivers off their website did not work for me. I went to www.rage3d.com to get the optional set of drivers. Following an upgrade 7.5 worked great.

thanks --i'll try that right now--I did try the upgraded drivers off the iste first but no luck--maybe these ones will work--ATI has more driversd than I have underwear I think!
-
Nope--didn't work--installed driver 9021 and then MMC7.5--still no video in--am I missing something or aren't there drivers just for VIVO cards--these generic drivers are ******* killing me!!
Could anyone who has win98 SE AND a radeon VIVO AND MMC7.5 working--tell me what their drivers are? -
I'm using the 4.13.9009 drivers (from ATI, not oddball tweaked drivers) with a Radeon 32MB DDR AIW,98SE and MMC 7.5, captures, ViVo, and all other features all working fine if that's any help.

ok, new drivers are installed, but I wanted to ask, did you do anyhting special to install MMC7.5? I've tried this combo before and didn't get very good results, so I'm wondering if maybe my method is wrong?? Thanks.
By the way did anyone ever tell you that you look alot like orson wells? -

well sad to say no luck--there's an offending file somewhere that prevents the video in aspect of the card from being recognized--god only knows--I've deleted everything that has anyhting to do with ATI MMC but I'm sure its a hidden registry entry somewhere that was never recorded! Needless to say I'm stumped and just about to say **** it--it doesn't work!
Its odd that only mmc7.1 will work though?? Appreciate the help though! -
Since you've totally re-installed the operating system, you probably lost your DirectX 8.1. Go to the Windows Web site and download the version you need for Win98SE.

if the problem with no video in means that you can't get the tv app to work then this may help:

you have to replace the two dll's mentioned. although the fix is noted to work for win 2k it also works for xp and various flavors of 98. -
Eureka!!!! Thanks to all for their assistance--the key was the two dll's that Next was kind enough to point the way to. All I did was install them in the windows and windows\system32\drivers folders and voila!!!
If anyone else has this problem--uninstall everything do with ATI, reinstall the drivers, reboot, install the dll's, then install MMC and reboot and you should have it--funny that I had to jump through this many hoops but whatever works!!
