    Hi there.

I am terribly sorry if this has been discussed before. (I tried to do a search for RECENT guidelines), but I have been looking for hours, can't seem to find exactly what I need.

My problem is this. I have DVD Shrink Version 3.2 and Nero 10. I used to be able to put a bought dvd in the dvd player on my computer, open shrink, do an analysis then back it up, then Nero would automatically open asking for a blank disc and I could insert that disc and hey presto, I would have a perfect DVD with the title of the movie etc all on there.

Now I try to do the same thing (years later), I am just trying to back up my store bought version of a couple of movies, and DVD shrink analyses them just fine, puts them in a temporary folder, but they are all IFO BUP VOB files. When it comes to burning, I have to import these files into nero and when it does burn it successfully, I end up with all the different files on the menu page (its fine for the time being for backups I guess), but a little frustrating as it used to be cool......easy.....

I did read that about 4 years ago DVD shrink stopped working with Nero? I dont know if that is correct, but I would just like to be able to merge all of those files into a single dvd with the name of the movie. Is that still possible? and if so I would really appreciate an easy tutorial to how to do this as I am not computer savvy at all......

Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry again if I am going over the same topic.

    Cheers
    Ally

Burn the VIDEO_TS folder with ImgBurn. The minute you mess with those VOB, IFO and BUP files....you are screwed. The VIDEO_TS folder is your DVD...not those individual files.

...and you'll need to switch to DVDFabDecrypter if you plan on doing more backups in the future. DVDShrink cannot handle newly released DVDs anymore. It is terribly out of date.

I did a search for Nero and Dvdshrink and this was the 5th result......

Which actually would have been the 4th one down before your post.

Thankyou so much hech for you very fast response. I appreciate it very much. I did think I would need to change something, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Again, much appreciated!

I did read that post, sorry about that, but I was HOPING I wouldn't have to change...I guess I was hoping for a New Years miracle lol.....again, I am not very computer savvy, so installing new programs seems to throw me for a bit of a loop. That is why I made my apologies for going over the same topic, I couldn't even remember where I had read that thread as I had read so many of them doing searches hoping for a quick fix. Again, apologies for going over the same topic, I dont like wasting peoples time.

Oh yes, I did something which I thought at the time was rather ''clever''. I used format factory to reformat the VIDEO folder into an AVI, I cant remember exactly which method I used though, but one of them worked LOL......it just plays the movie, but doesnt have titles, chapters or additional material of course, so I will use the new programs for further backups. Again, cheers, you guys are awesome and very clever!
