  1. I have a bunch of video files (mp4, avi, mpg) and when I play them, some open in max window, other open in half page window, others open in quarter page window. There is no consistency in how they open. Even if I click on the maximize button and then X out, it will not remember to open in max mode next time.

Does anyone know the logic in how WMP 11 opens video files?

Check the 'Video Size' options from the view menu.

If 'Fit Video to Player on resize' is ticked, the video will fill the screen proportional to the screen/window dimensions.

If 'Fit Player to Video on start' is ticked, then the video will be shown at whatever it's dimensions are irrespective of the screen/window size. So if you have 320 pixel wide video that is what you get at 100%.

  3. For some reason, both are checked....what overrides when that happens?
