Does anyone know if Canon printers that accept the CLI8 ink cartridges also accept the CLI8 photo ink cartridges? I don't see any reference for these photo ink cartridges in the user manual of the Canon MP500.

I have been using genuine CLI-8x ink cartridges on my iP5200 for many years and have never seen a "CLI8 photo" cartridge.
The box from my CLI-8M cartridge says its compatable with the MP500 printer.
Perhaps Canon marketing in Europe makes a diference.
(edit, hopefully to clarify - The CLI-8M box specifies the ink to be Chromalife 100, which is the photo ink)Last edited by bendixG15; 28th Dec 2010 at 13:37.

some canon printers have "normal" cym + b carts and then additional carts with special photo inks in them. like my ip4000 has black and "photo" black carts.
[edit] should mention the regular and photo carts are always in the printer, you don't switch them around.Last edited by aedipuss; 28th Dec 2010 at 15:30.
