I must be missing something simple, but someone help me get ImgBurn to work with Shrink? Now that I'm using Windows 7, I can't use Nero and from what I've read, DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn are better anyway.

Trouble if that DVDShrink does not know what program to use, and I'm confused about the process. ImgBurn has a tom of options.

    Thanks for the help!!!

Just have DVDShrink output to a folder of YOUR choosing....then burn that with ImgBurn.
There is nothing inside ImgBurn that can make it work with DVDShrink.

    Rename imgburn.exe to dvddecrypter.exe
I don't know. You could install DVDdecrypter and use it's burn engine. It's the same burn engine as Imgburn except that it hasn't been updated for years.

I did a google search and in the afterdawn forum they said to do pretty much as I suggested...

You can trick DVDShrink to opening imgburn automatically and burn your backup right away so that you do not have to do it manually.

To do so go to the imgburn program folder and right click on the imgburn.exe file. Select Copy.

Now go to the DVDdecrypter program folder and paste the imgburn.exe copy into the folder. Now select the DVDdecrypter.exe file and rename it something like DVDdecrypter_Real.exe. (You do this so you can find the origonal DVDdecrypter.exe file). Next select the copied imgburn.exe file and rename it DVDdecrypter.exe.

In the shrink settings select the "write ISO and burn with decrytper"

Now each time that shrink is finished with its job it will open the burn engine for imgburn.

    Works great.

  4. Have you taken a look at the DVDShrink download page here?!

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Shrink

Look under the 'More information and other downloads' section.

  5. Go to https://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Shrink and look at "More information and other downloads". There is a patched exe that uses ImgBurn instead of DVDdecrypter, that should work.

Edit: Lightning UK! response was faster than mine

Download and install DVDShrink as normal, then download this file that has been patched to allow it to use IMGBurn to burn DVDs instead of Nero. I know it works as I use it myself, but do make sure you have also installed IMGBurn at some point on your system

    http://download3.videohelp.com/DVDShrink32_w_ImgBurn.rar

Simply copy the patched file to where you installed DVDShrink, overwriting the original file with the patched file when prompted

Just make sure to change the settings under "File I/O" and untick the setting "Enable burning with Nero", then DVD Shrink will auto-load IMGBurn when it comes to creating or burning the disk images

    1) You do understand that hech54's suggestion will certainly work and you are not powerless here, right? You don't HAVE to have DVDShrink do the burning step for you. You could just do that yourself.
    2) You should look here:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with...pgcedit_v2.htm
Scroll down to the bottom section called "TECHNICAL INFORMATION REGARDING 32K GAPS". You need to be aware that DVDShrink puts BUPs and IFOs in the same block, thus destroying the entire reason for having BUP files in the first place. You can overcome this negative "feature" of DVDShrink by manually using PgcEdit to create ISO files with 32K gaps which you then manually burn with ImgBurn. Admittedly the odds of this causing you a problem are rather low, I fully admit that, but they are not zero.

  8. You don't need to use PgcEdit at all, ImgBurn does 32k gaps between IFO and BUP files all by itself.
