I just downloaded lordsmurf's VirtualDub with the filters pre installed, and I'm just not sure what to do next. I apologize for my greenness, but from what I gather you have to manually apply each one that you want, then adjust each filters settings however you want? I guess what I am saying is you don't just turn on the filter and it magically makes the video look nice. How do you know which filters to turn on? Is this just a matter of looking at the video and knowing which ones will do what? I guess theres just so many in there and I don't even know which ones will make my video look the best.

You pick filters based on what you're wanting to do, based off errors you see.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Alright cool, so my next question then is how do I know what each filter is capable of? Would there be any before and after shots of errors that particular filters have corrected?

I believe each filter has a simple description when you click on it....and there should be side-by-side video. Left is original right is filtered.
