  1. I have been using Nero 4 for burning several files on from dvdrip, Xivid, Divx files mainly for children's cartoons and some movies.

Surprisingly some works and run perfectly for at the first use, some fails while the writing process start right after encoding is done.

Also, I notice that dvds which failed still appear empty and can still be used for other data, for example picture transfer on picasa.....
But not for another try of movie burning again.

    Just a question:

I use dvd + r from hp 4.7 gb 120 mns video.... Does it have something to do with the disc or the files that i process.
These dvds from HP seems to be recommended to be of the highest quality. I am not in US but in Thailand so choice and quality may dbe different from other regions.

With thanks for some feedback and guidance to this concern.

Who recommends HP discs as the highest quality ? Not someone around here, I would wager.

Use Imgburn and Verbatim discs for the best burns.

  4. Nah, AFAIK, all HP, Philips, Memorex, etc, etc, mass-market stuff, is CMC MAG M01-00, and has been for some time. Second-class media.

If you use ImgBurn and don't burn at full rated speed (try 8x instead), you can improve your success rate. It also helps to allow a hundred MBs or so for overhead, rather than burning to capacity. Nevertheless, you can expect some failed burns. I use them for *tossers*. Verify the disc. You can guarantee it's bad if ImgBurn reports unrecoverable read error. Throw it away.

    Verbatim DataLifePlus is first-class media.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
