    peace out and thx

  2. All I can say is you have to lower the bit-rate. If you have the latest TMPGEnc try using the automatic VBR. Check out your average bitrate, it shouldnt exceed 2400kbps.

  3. I use the following TMPGEnc settings to generate my SVCDs. I watch them on my SC-HT70 and it seems that they work also on other standalone players.

As a starting point I took the "SuperVideoCD (PAL)" template:
    Stream type: MPEG-2 Video
    Size: 480x576
Rate Control Mode: Constant Bit Rate (CBR)
    Profile Level: MP@ML
    ...

To remove the described video/audio stuttering I adjusted the following settings:
    Video options
    Bitrate: somewhere between 1900 - 2200 (I think the SC-HT70 should play up to 2400 kbit/sec)
VBV buffer size: 80 KB [important!]
Encode Mode: Non-Interlace [I think Interlace is also okay]
Motion search precision: Highest Quality [this is not important]
    System options
    Stream-Type: MPEG-2 Program (VBR) [important!]

Note: to change the standard settings you have to load the "Extra/unlock.mcf" template

Perhaps you can raise the VBV buffer size, but 80 KB works well.

Note if you have audio problems: I deactivated the AVI2(OpenDML) & AVI VFW VFAPI-plugins and used an external audio encoder (tooLame.exe) instead. Always check your MPGs for correct audio & video resolution before burning...

    Happy encoding...
