Hello,
I've converted several movies with MeGUI and X.264 codec. I noticed, that the AVC level isn't always the same. Some movies have 3.0, 3.1 or 4.0.
The encoder settings for the AVC level is currently set to "Unrestricted/Autoguess". How does X.264 determine, what level to use at this setting? Does it work like "Oh, this movie is quite complex, let's use a higher AVC level..." ?
What, if I set the AVC level to 4.1 ? Will this tell the encoder to use 4.1 as maximum level or will it always use 4.1 and nothing else?
Thanks for the help.
