  1. If my video source is in DVD format, because my camcorder records straigth to dvd format using optical miniDVD discs, wich is the best way to edit those recordings in NLEs like Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere Pro ?

for example, the sound is ac3 and I can demux it using DVDDecrypter, then decode it to WAV using azid_P4. This way I can make audio adjustments, maybe normalisation and volume adjustments by keyframing audio where the noise produced by the wind hitting the mic is too loud...

but for the video part, if I demux the .M2V video stream, is this a good format for editing in NLEs ? Or do you recommend that I should convert the dvd to DV-AVI using XviD4PSP or other tools. Also, sometimes, when demuxing a .M2V stream from a DVD, it's length isn't the same as the length of it's coresponding audio stream. Maybe converting to DV-AVI is a better approach, because it doesn't involve demuxing, but is it a losless process ? Many users have posted on this forum, problems wich involved demuxing .m2v stream from dvd's... What procedure do you recommend?

Sony Vegas will import directly from the miniDVD disc. Try the demo. AC3 will be a problem in older versions.
