My Dell Inspiron Laptop has the NEC ND-6650A DVD RW and I recently lost all ability to play video. Audio CDs will play but DVDs will now play on Media Player, Media Player Classic, or Quick Time. I've tried multiple DVDs and none play.

Media Player tells me the file type (.) is not recognized whenever I try to play a DVD.

Media Player Classic provides the following information after not playing a DVD:
Media Player Classic could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system.
