It's been like that for a while. When I place the arrow on a video file then do the right-click there's no MPCHC on the list "Open with..." Then I go to Properties, under General tab click Change button and still can't see MPC player in the list of programs/players. So on that window I click Browse... button and thru there I click on mpc-hc64.exe file. Doesn't help. Instead of MPCHC some other player comes on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MPCHC and ffdshow doing a restart after uninstallation and reinstallation and still no change for better.
However, MPC plays back video when I click on an MPC in All Programs menu. I load a video then to the alone MPC player and it works. Besides this, seems like MPC is "dead" on my computer.
As the matter of fact I have Windows7 DSFilter Tweaker on my computer. Some time ago I needed this and did some tweaks. I checked also that. I tried these settings and those settings in that program and still can't start to playback video by MPC clicking on the file.

    Windows 7 64-bit

In case someone would have this minor problem. Got to get some program for cleaning Windows Registry. Run a scan, fix errors and this kind of problem goes away.

  3. Windows occasionally boot programs out of the Open With menu for some reason. Select Open With -> Select Program. Select MPCHC. MPCHC will be back in the Open With menu.

No no... There was the problem that MPCHC didn't show up at all in the programs list. Even when I browsed for mpc-hc.exe and had clicked on this, still some other player used to come instead of.

In your first post, you talked about browsing for MPCHC via the Properties->General menu.
What jagabo is saying is to use the Select Program option in the Open With menu, and browse to MPCHC from there. Then you would select "Always use this program to open these files".
    Did you try that?

In MPC-HC, select View > Options... In the left pane of the Options window, select Formats (under Player). There should be a section labeled "Explorer Context Menu", with checkboxes for "Directory" and "File(s)". (Though, I don't know if this holds true for all versions of MPC-HC; I'm using one of the recent betas.)

Check one, or both. You'll probably need to click Modify, and have the admin password ready when you do so, then click OK when you're finished.

    Hopefully, that'll help.

Seems like this would work out. And wouldn't have to scan Windows Registry specially for this purpose.
    Well... Thank you anyway
At least I know this in the future/next time.
