converting video from 4:3 to WS and from WS to 4:3 & other questions

Some movies FLV/avi/mkv are distorted and when I have to change it in aspect ration every time I want to watch it. is there a program that can change the AR for good?

Also, I hate MKV files. What can I use to change HD MKV to HD AVI? neither gom player or MPC wants to play nice with it. I installed klite codec and I think that may be the issue though. Is cccp better? should I just uninstall kliet and then install cccp?

And last, is there a program that can edit out the black bars in movies?

So I'm still wondering if there's an aspect ratio editor, a program that can cut black bars off movies, and what can I use to convert MKV to HD AVI?

I use VirtualDubb to convert MKV to HD AVI(VxiDHD)

thanks for your suggestion. After trying winavi all in one trial I bought the full version for less than $50 to convert the files and it looks amazing! I'm shocked that it was able to convert them to such a high quality. I also was able to convert fraps files I had that were 2.2gb down to 1gb files that have almost the same IQ as the original..how they do it I just don't know...better by far than anything I've tried till now.
