I capture using ATI AIW. I use VirtualDub with Huffyuv and capture to AVI. I encode using the TMPGEnc VCD template on High Quality. When I play the CD on my stand-alone DVD player, the picture is OK, but there always seems to be "motion" going on, i.e. there always seem to be a million square pixels "dancing around" which makes the video look "computery." This is especially true on dark solid backgrounds. Is this how VCD is supposed to look? Is this the best I'm to expect from digitization? My source is usually VCR using composite connections, but I also experience this using S-Video coming from a satellite receiver. I have a 1ghz Pentium III and 128mb RAM.

  2. try capturing at a higher resolution.

  3. when using the High quality feature, I think it has an option as slow quality or something like that. This produces a better quality you can also increase the bitrate and the VBR setting is best
